Q&A with Junior Eli Boshak
Q: How has the season been going so far?
A: So far, the team has had a successful year. By no means have any of the matches been easy, but the team has fought hard in order to compete and win as many matches as possible.
Q: What’s been the most surprising part of the season thus far?
A: This season, our team has been able to compete with some of the top teams in the state. All players on varsity have shown the ability to play hard. Underclassmen such as Abhi Challa and Eric Scalici have shown great abilities during their singles matches. Our doubles teams of Jake Brosse and Joey Bejjani and Noah Kahlil and Justin Turpan have shown great chemistry in order to win matches. Our alternates of Julian Martin and Thomas Mierzwa have shown skill in stepping in to play in crucial matches. All around the team has surprised many opponents with our great tennis play.
Q: What has been something special either you personally or as a team have accomplished?
A: For me as a captain it has been special working with our coach, Jeff Martin, and fellow captains Jake Brosse and Justin Turpan in order to help provide guidance to the team. It has been a different experience this year, as a leader of the team, which has definitely been exciting.
Q: What are your goals for the remainder of the season?
A: Our goals for the rest of the season are to win the division and to make a deep run in the sectional tournament. Neither of these will be easy.
