The War has continued to spread across the Middle East since Feb. 28. The Iran-backed armed group, Hezbollah, launched rockets at Israel on March 2, and Israel and Hezbollah have been fighting since. Israel has led raids into southern Lebanon, where Hezbollah operates, to create a buffer zone. Persian Gulf countries that are allied with the United States and Turkey have been targeted by Iranian missiles as well. Countries, including Saudi Arabia and the UAE, have reported Iranian ballistic missiles entering their airspace. In Dubai, hotels have been hit by explosions and caught on fire, according to a New York Times article updated on March 9.
In Iran, a strike on the Shajarah Tayyebeh elementary school led to the death of at least 175 people. A preliminary investigation found that the U.S. was at fault for the strike due to a targeting error, according to a New York Times article from March 11.
As fighting continues, questions about the trajectory arise. As of March 13, there has been no plan made to end the conflict.
