The West Essex Field Hockey team had another successful season, tying Oak Knoll and beating Millburn to be crowned North East A Section Champions. Overall the team was 12-0-1, only conceding three goals all season. Freshman goalie Abby Zanelli made 13 saves in goal this season and was supported by a defensive line led by junior captain, Alexandra Shizas. Junior Carly Iacullo and senior captain, Rebecca Desiderio were also a key component to this defensive line.

The Knights offense was just as strong with a stellar 91 goal season. Their offense was led by juniors Caitlin Lutz and Gianna Puorro. Lutz led the team with 25 goals and Puorro led with 25 assists. 

Returning 21 players and a majority of their starters, the team looks to build on their 2020 success and carry it over toward 2021.
