Nothing feels more comforting on a cold winter morning than warm banana bread.

Are you bored and tired of snacking all day? Are you going bananas in your house all day?  Well, here is what I call the perfect easy and healthy snack. The one and only, Banana Bread. Whether it’s a snow day or a normal quarantine day, this is the perfect choice. With only natural ingredients and a whole fruit, it can’t get any better.

This calls for 5 tablespoons of coconut oil, ½ cup of honey, 5 medium bananas, 2 eggs, 1 tablespoon of baking soda, ½ teaspoon of salt, ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 2 cups of white whole wheat flour.  To start, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Then, melt the butter in a large glass bowl. Add all the ingredients to the bowl and mix it all together, and when it’s fully mixed, put it in the pan. Now, you have to have patience and salivate for 55 minutes while it’s in the oven. When it’s all done, slice it and enjoy it with friends and family.

Of course you’re gonna need a delicious drink with your banana bread. This healthy hot cocoa recipe is the perfect fit. With only 1 cup of milk, 2 ½ teaspoons of cocoa powder, ½ teaspoon of maple syrup, 1 tablespoon of dark chocolate chips, ¼ teaspoon of pure vanilla extract, and a tiny pinch of salt it can cure your sweet tooth. In a small pan, heat the milk and  whisk in the cocoa powder, maple syrup, and salt. Lastly, add the chocolate chips and vanilla and whisk until the chocolate is melted. For those with the extra sweet tooth, adding more maple syrup or topping it with chocolate chips can do the job.

Since there is nothing to do all day in your house except eat, turning non-healthy foods into a healthier version can make a huge difference. It’s important to keep up a healthy life-style especially when you aren’t as active as usual. Hopefully being stuck in your house won’t happen again, but I was able to find a new passion for eating a healthier way.
