In a comeback victory, quarterback Patrick Mahomes led the Kansas City Chiefs to their second-ever Superbowl win, against the San Francisco 49ers. The Chiefs started the game strong, scoring the first touchdown, but fell behind in the second half, with the score being 20-10 in the 49er’s favor at the end of their sixth drive. Mahomes threw for 286 yards in the game, had 26 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the game. This win also ended the Cheif’s 50-year Super Bowl drought, which was their first appearance since their 1970 win. Mahomes is also the youngest quarterback to ever win a Super Bowl MVP award. Both Mahomes and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady are the only two players to be given the MVP before turning 25.
