TEF Talks

Who are you? Introduce yourselves and include one fun fact about yourself.

Stephanie Freda: When I was in 3rd grade, I met Big Time Rush.

Kat Trupia: When I was little I had a fish for, like, three years but never bothered to give it a name (RIP).

Ava Franchi: I cut my bagels with scissors

Where’d the name for your podcast come from?

A group of us were mocking Stephanie in a Stupid People voice and her name just morphed into Tefuni over time. The name of our podcast is a play on words of TED Talks.

How would you describe your podcast in 30 words or less?

On our podcast, we talk about our lives as high schoolers. But It’s mostly the three of us gently bullying each other and ourselves.

Why did you want to start a podcast together?

Steph mentioned to Kat one day that it could be fun to start a podcast together. We eventually got Ava on board too because there’s a really chaotic dynamic between the three of us that we figured could be mildly entertaining.

If you could have any person from real life, history or fiction as a guest on your pod, who would it be and why?

We’d have two people: Cody Ko and Noel Miller, because they’re both really funny podcast hosts and they’d probably have a lot to add to our own podcast.

Ragja That!

Who are you? Introduce yourselves and include one fun fact about yourself.

We are Ally, Gabby, Jamie and Roxanne, aka Ragja That! We’re all sophomores and really wanted to start a podcast together. Fun fact: Jamie, Ally and Rox were all in Period 5 Journ I together, Gabby was in Period 6 (Period 5 ALWAYS wins) and we all plan on continuing with Journ/the Wire for the remainder of high school.

Where’d the name for your podcast come from?

Honestly, we don’t know. It took us three whole podcast “meetings” to think of a name before we randomly combined our names to form “Ragja.” ‘Ragja That’ is sort of like “roger that” so we decided to do that. It’s random, but catchy.

How would you describe your podcast in 30 words or less?

Random, crazy topics about anything and everything. We’re talking from topics like grades, holidays, pet peeves, music, and everything pop culture. It’s a fun and wild podcast.

Why did you want to start a podcast together?

Last year, Jamie and Ally were talking about starting a podcast just for fun. This year Mr. Herm asked us if we would want to start a podcast and we obviously said yes. We wanted it to be the four of us because we have a really strong energy and vibe together. Our podcast is the perfect way for us to express ourselves and share that energy.

If you could have any person from real life, history or fiction as a guest on your pod, who would it be and why?

Pewdiepie. He shares the same sense of humor as us and has the same energy.

SportsKnight Radio

Who are you? Introduce yourselves and include one fun fact about yourself.

Paul Gustafson: I have never lost a game of NBA2K

Curran Rastogi: I met the entire Saints and Patriots team in 2015, and Tom Brady was the only person who I didn’t meet so I hate him.

Where’d the name for your podcast come from?

The name was suggested to us by Mr.Hermosilla because the name had been used in the past for other sports related material with the Wire.

How would you describe your podcast in 30 words or less?

Two friends roasting each other and talking NFL, NBA, MLB, maybe soccer if Paul lets me

Why did you want to start a podcast together?

During our radio unit last year in Journ 1, we went on the mic together and we really like to do it. Then our teacher Mr. Hermosilla approached us about potentially doing a podcast, we really like the idea so we decided to do a trial run near the end of last year.

If you could have any person from real life, history or fiction as a guest on your pod, who would it be and why?

Stephen A. Smith and Colin Cowherd

Stephen A.: Paul thinks he acts like Stephen A Smith on the podcast, so I guess that he would want Stephen A. to talk to him. Stephen A. Smith is the GOAT of sports television so it would be great to talk with him and learn some of the tips and tricks that have made him so successful.

Colin Cowherd: He is a very entertaining radio host, who makes a lot of interesting predictions and we’d talk to him about his unpopular opinions on different aspects of the NFL and NBA.
