Valentines Day: the day many single people dreadfully despise because it’s filled with red roses, the exchange of chocolate-covered strawberries and couples that show way too much PDA. There’s a stereotype that Valentine’s Day is only dedicated to those in a relationship … but it is a celebration for love and affection itself, so why why can’t this special day be dedicated to those who are single? If you’re single on the lovey-dovey Feb. 14, here are five activities to do to honor love and affection toward yourself.

Treat yourself to a spa-night at home

A candle-lit bath and a face mask may just do the trick on Valentine’s Day. Taking the night to relax by yourself can be calming and relieving, especially on this day. A spa-night is always needed once in a while and is the ideal way to treat yourself.

Buy some chocolate-covered strawberries for yourself

Instead of sharing a dozen chocolate covered strawberries with someone else, just go out and buy some all for yourself. Indulging into the simple pleasure of great desserts may just fill up your lonely, sad little heart.

Get together with all your other single friends

If you’re not the only single one in the group, then give a friend a call and get together. It wouldn’t hurt to go grab a bite to eat or even stay in and order pizza. Having someone else to talk to on Valentine’s Day might just be better than overthinking all of the reasons why you have ended up being single on this day… again.

Go on an adventure

Book a fun adventure to go on during Valentine’s Day. Maybe skydiving! Go to the mall or maybe even take a trip into the city. Fun adventures always get the mood up and it would be a great way to relieve some stress.

Buy yourself a gift

Treating yourself can be great sometimes. Valentine’s Day is the perfect day to buy yourself a gift. Whether it’s a cute pair of shoes or an expensive piece of jewelry. Buying yourself something can make you feel special and important – on your own.
