With spooky season at its peak, teens are spending all their time buying Halloween costumes, going pumpkin picking and planning for their upcoming Halloween parties. However, after a long week of school, being out and about can be too much. Follow these steps for a festive, calming Halloween-themed night-in.

Step 1: Take a trip to your local convenience store.

If you are going to spend your night inside watching movies, you are going to need some good candy and maybe some cookies to bake. Of course, the candy and cookies you buy is your choice but here are a few suggestions:

– M&M’s (any type)

– Sour Patch Watermelon

– Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (pumpkin shaped)

– Kit Kat minis

– Pillsbury pumpkin or ghost sugar cookies

Step 2: Invite friends over (optional)

This step is up to you. If you want to invite your close friends over, go for it. If you are more comfortable being alone, there is no problem with having a night to yourself.

Step 3: Light candles to set the spooky mood.

Candles can make a room feel cozy and warm. I recommend pumpkin scented candles to help you get into the fall mood.

Step 4: Order in a meal or your choice.

Whether it be pizza, sushi, or Chinese food, you are going to want a hearty meal before you binge on candy and Halloween cookies.

Step 5: Choose a Halloween movie/horror movie.

Some of my personal favorite Halloween movies or horror movies include, “Halloweentown”, “Twitches”, “Mostly Ghostly”, “Coraline”, “The Conjuring”, and “Paranormal Activity”.

Sit back, relax, grab a nice cozy blanket and have a Happy Halloween!
