If you’re as chronically online as most teenagers today, you know Alix Earle and Alex Cooper. Alix Earle, the University of Miami It Girl and the Internet’s “Father” of podcasting, Alex Cooper, are fighting and this is not a feud to miss. These two influencers turned podcasters turned businesswomen are now enemies. For even the biggest of fans, this timeline feels impossible to follow, with many questioning its authenticity. Like most feuds today, it all started with a podcast. Here is everything you need to know about this conflict and what to expect over the next couple of weeks.
This clash started when Alex Cooper launched “The Unwell Network” in 2023. The host of “Call Her Daddy” expanded her reach by creating a network of the most popular influencers and geared the content towards Gen-Z media. This network, however, had drama within itself.
Previously, “Call Her Daddy” was hosted by two girls, Alex Cooper and Sofia Franklyn and was run by Barstool Sports. What actually happened between these two remains unclear, however the two split in 2020 due to “contractual issues” and Cooper took over. She gained immense success online and grew a huge audience which seemed to overpower any bad blood she had created with her ex co-host. The word “unwell” was often used on the original “Call Her Daddy” podcast and was coined by Sofia Franklyn. Many fans were confused and hurt for Franklyn when Cooper decided to make Unwell both her branding as a creator but also the name of her network.
Cooper signed Earle to the network and in September of 2023, Alix Earle’s “Hot Mess” podcast launched. The two were a duo that the internet could not get enough of. This collaboration combined two of social media’s biggest stars in a way that fans had never seen before. This success continued as Alix Earle continued her visual podcast series “Hot Mess” and Alex Cooper ran both “The Unwell Network” and her own podcast, “Call Her Daddy.”
Fast forward to February 2025, many fans began to speculate tensions as Alix Earle made less and less appearances at “Unwell” events and her engagement seemed far and few between. On Feb. 25, 2025 “Hot Mess” was officially dropped by “The Unwell Network.”
From then on, the two continued to make shady comments in the press about their relationship off-camera. The two have revealed that the seemingly perfect duo were facing major contractual and personal issues. These tensions led people to “take sides” and chose either “Team Alix” or “Team Alex.”
The influencers gained a reputation of having widely known but rarely spoken about drama between them. Tensions seemingly died down until Alix Earle broke her streak of subtle comments.
On April 10, Alix Earle reposted a video on Tiktok which showed major backlash towards Cooper. The video essentially shamed Cooper for being an “ambulance chaser” referencing how she is always the first at the scene when reporting on events. Cooper has faced controversy in the past for interviewing celebrities and influencers at times that feel inappropriate. Whether it’s the highest high of a person’s career, or their lowest low, Cooper tends to be the first to get an interview which waves red flags for many audience members.
Alix Earle’s repost was followed by an almost two minute long video posted by Cooper addressing the situation and encouraging Alix Earle to tell her side of the story. The video, found on Alex Cooper’s Tiktok, insinuates that she has nothing to hide as she continuously encouraged Earle to provide evidence of “The Unwell Network’s” alleged wrongdoings. Earle then left a simple “Okay on it!!” comment on the video.
It’s been over a month since the comment was left and neither has spoken out. With Alix Earle’s new reality show in the works and Alex Cooper’s pregnancy announcement, the two are seemingly putting this feud on the back burner and focusing on themselves.
