Glancing through someone’s Twitter favorites is like getting a glimpse into their minds. Are they sad? Happy? Mad? Just open Twitter and take a peek to see what’s happening in their lives. Of course, judging someone based off of their favorites is purely hypothetical; you really do not know what they are thinking, it is just a hint at what might be going on.

You might be sad…

Finding yourself favoriting a mass amount of sad quotes could potentially be a sign that you’re not as happy as you’re letting on.  Going through a breakdown? Breakup? Fighting with a friend? All these things could be motivation for favoriting those sad stories or quotes. Of course, you could just be angsty or looking for a good cry, which is understandable.

You might be in need of a good laugh…

When your favorites are filled with funny videos, scenarios or pictures, you might be needing some cheering up. Maybe you had a bad day and are looking to smile? Or, maybe, your friend told you to look at their retweet and now you are trapped in a bottomless abyss of funny videos. It could be none of these things, as well, maybe you’re just in a good mood and love to laugh.

You might be wiser than you’re letting on…

Favoriting inspirational quotes and deeply thought ideas might be, among other things, a sign that you’re wiser than you might seem. No time for shady retweets or cute animal videos? No problem! There are plenty of Twitter accounts for the “wiser” users who choose to spread wisdom rather than the latest viral video.

You might be self-conscious…

If you find yourself constantly looking at makeup pictures or makeup gurus, this could be a sign that you’re self-conscious. Obviously, not everyone who looks at makeup or wears it is unhappy with themselves, but hypothetically constantly looking at it can make one become self-conscious.

You’re mad…

When you find yourself favoriting shady tweets that apply a little too much to a situation in your life. Maybe you’re mad at a certain someone and so happened to find a tweet that is, coincidentally, spot on with how you’re feeling?

You’re stressed…

A great way to see if a student is stressed is by peeking through their favorites. If they happen to like a lot of tweets that are mocking school stress levels or workloads, it could be hinting that they too are feeling pressure. Many, such as myself, head to Twitter to laugh about their stressors rather than facing them head on.
