I do not believe that 16-year-olds should be able to vote. My reasoning for this is that most 16-year-olds are still under their parents’ roof and are being paid for by them. This could lead many of them to be forced to align their votes with their parents. If they are not forced to vote for a certain party, they would not have their own political views yet, because many have not experienced the real world. This could cause them to vote ambiguously and could cause a false result.
Many would argue that 16-year-olds are more intelligent and care more about politics than many believe. On a municipal level, since the policies would affect them more, the kids might care and be more knowledgeable. This idea could encompass topics like education and curfews. I do not agree with this, since I am a teenager I know that the others wouldn’t care, and many once they turn 18 will continue to not care.
