Beloved assistant football coach and World History teacher Timothy Glenn has been inducted into the New Jersey Football Coaches Association Hall Of Fame. Coach Glenn has been instrumental to the Knights’ success over the past three decades.
Glenn is coming off of his 34th season as a coach for the team and has been continuously recognized and appreciated for his devotion to the program. He loves the atmosphere of the Knights football team and forming relationships with the boys as he gets to watch them improve in every game.
“I like to coach football because I like being around the kids,” Coach Glenn said. “It’s so different now than how it was when I was younger.”
Glenn appreciates the competitive nature of the game and how aggressive the players are. He looks back fondly on every moment he has shared as part of the team, but one stands out: the team’s huge victory over West Morris Central in the playoffs this past fall. This game propelled the team to the sectional finals at Rutgers University and is a night Glenn feels lucky to have been a part of.
“My favorite memory is from when we beat West Morris Central this past year because it felt different from any of the other games,” Glenn said. “It was the most intense game I think I’ve ever coached, and I’ve coached some crazy games.”
Coach Glenn is an integral member of the West Essex community and supports his players on and off the field. The Knight’s success in the past few seasons can be attributed to the close bonds Glenn shares with the team, especially the defensive players. It is time he is recognized for his commitment to the program and for all he has done for the team over the years. West Essex is lucky to have Coach Timothy Glenn.
