REVIEW: An invitation to “Harry’s House”

Following the massive success of global phenomenon “Fine Line,” Harry Styles’ new album had a lot to live up to. The era began with a single, “As it Was,” that topped the charts and immediately began to trend online and on the radio. Styles’ new album was destined to be a hit, and this was certainly a promise kept.
Following its May 20 release, “Harry’s House” has been doing astoundingly well, and for good reason. The album lives up to and even surpasses the expectations of Styles’ giant fan base.
After the release of his first single, the Internet went absolutely wild. When the album was finally released, every song was just as outstanding as the previous one. Styles’ first track, “Music for a Sushi Restaurant,” was an amazing start to this set. From its positive vibes to unbeatable lyrics, there’s nothing not to like.
He continues with this upbeat vibe in his tracks “Late Night Talking,” “Cinema,” “Daydreaming,” “Keep Driving” and “Satellite.” Styles never fails to create a song you can dance to and these tracks proved to us exactly that. Some songs on the album tend to have depressing lyrics put on upbeat tracks.
Styles never makes an album without a little bit of sadness and in this case, he definitely didn’t miss the mark. His tracks “Grapejuice,” “Little Freak,” “Matilda,” “Boyfriends” and “Love of my Life” provide listeners with an element of despair matching that of tracks such as “Fine Line,” “Falling” and “Sign of the Times” on prior albums. Perfect for dealing with a heartbreak, Styles knows exactly where our soft spots are.
The album’s final track, “Love of my Life” captured themes from the entire album and represented them in one singular song. This was a perfect closing to the story explored throughout the album, and is an extremely memorable fan favorite.
Themes such as family life and relationships are predominantly displayed through the duration of the album. These themes draw in audiences, as many people may relate to some of the various themes addressed in “Harry’s House”, giving listeners a look at a brand new side of Styles.
While “Harry Styles” gave us a look into classic rock and “Fine Line” contained ’70s nostalgia, “Harry’s House” seemed to have went for an ’80s vibe as well as some indie pop touches.
Styles is displaying this album prominently with a tour in many countries, including 15 nights in Madison Square Garden. This will likely be an opportunity for fans to dress up once more, dancing to their favorite upbeat songs like no one is watching and absorbing the sadness in some of the slower tracks on the album.
Every song on Styles’ third album was a hit, topping the charts and living up to the tremendously high expectations following the success of “FIne Line.” Still, songs are beginning to break records shortly after the release and are beloved by fans around the world.
