West Essex Football Knights play West Milford on Friday, Nov. 12 in the semi-finals of the state tournament.

The West Essex Football Knights  ended their regular season with a successful record of 7-2 and 5-0 in their conference earning the Super Football Conference American Red Division title. Coming off a tremendous regular season, the Knights immediately took this momentum into the playoffs. Blowing out their first opponent, Wayne Valley, 42-3 in the first round of the state tournament, the Knights are ready to take on West Milford at home on Friday, Nov. 12 in the semi finals. “Being tough, physical and disciplined in all phases of the game are the three most important aspects of the boys overall game play,” head coach Chris Benaquista said.

Having a good connection on and off the field makes success inevitable. “These guys are a close knit group that seem to enjoy practicing and playing together,” Benaquista said. As the end of their season approaches, the boys continue to work hard and improve every day. Facing some of the best teams in New Jersey, the Knights will have to leave their all on the field every game in order to advance in the state tournament. “If done so, we think we will have a good chance to be successful,” Benaquista said.
