In 2003, the Coppola family became second-generation owners of Gencarelli’s Pizza and Restaurant located in Wayne and Pine Brook, N.J.. Gencarelli’s serves a full line of food including pizza, pasta, seafood and meat dishes. They are known not only for their affordable dining experience, but also their rather family-friendly atmosphere. Gencarelli’s wants all of their customers to feel as if they are a part of the family when they step through the restaurant doors. During the quarantine, Gencarelli’s has been connecting and giving back to the community beyond the kitchen. They keep in touch through social media and serve dishes to local healthcare workers at nearby hospitals. Next time you stop in, make sure you try their iconic “Chicken Dominic” dish!
What is the overall experience that Gencarelli’s want to give their customers? We like to be a reasonably priced restaurant run kind of atmosphere. We want you to feel like you’re at your house. You want to feel like you’re comfortable; you can come in at any time and enjoy a great meal.
If you could describe your business in one word, what would it be and why? Satisfying. Honestly because of the response from customers and how they like your food. You get that sense of pride when they come back and say how much they enjoyed your food.
What makes your business unique as opposed to others? Most of the reason is that we are a family-run business; we take pride in what we do and we make people feel like they are a part of it.
