Girls lacrosse turns a new page in 2020
After a disappointing 2019 season, the West Essex girls lacrosse team is looking to bounce back in this spring. Under second year head coach Bettina Plesnitzer and senior captains Lindsay Fusco, Cameron Kinsella and Sophia Hug, the Lady Knights are young but loaded with talent.
“With a lot of hard work, I think that we have a great chance at making great runs in the county and state tournaments,” Fusco said.
The team has been putting in the work this offseason to ensure that they have the best possible season. The girls have been training two to three times a week and keeping their sticks in their hands. They have one of the toughest schedules in the state, playing some of the top teams in NJ and are looking to win some key matchups this year.
“I am really excited to play MKA.” Kinsella said. “I think we all knew we could have beaten them and I remember … just wanting another chance to play them.”
