Softball’s family like culture helps them thrive

The West Essex Softball Knights are looking to return to the promised land after an impressive 2019 campaign. Last year, the Lady Knights made deep runs in the county and state tournaments.

The Knights are a young team led by standout sophomores Julianna Tornatore and Alissa Gallion. Head coach Andrea Mondadori-Llauget has faith in her veteran seniors Alexa Liggieri, Jessica Coia and Francesca Apito.

“Past seniors have made them who they are and I hope they can continue that tradition,” Coach Mondadori said.

Strong relationships between upper and underclassmen create great chemistry within the team and allows the team to thrive. The culture around the team is one that is like one big family and plays a big role in their success.
