Tennis takes on new challenge with new head coach

Going into the season with a new head coach in a new division, the West Essex boys tennis team is preparing to square off against a new challenge under rookie head coach John Martin who teaches at Nutley High School. Coach Martin is looking to build a positive culture and mindset amongst players.

“I always believe that the biggest match is always the next one,” Martin said. “The only thing we can do to prepare is to practice hard and build confidence in ourselves from day one, that way each and every time we step on the court we expect to win!”

The players have high expectations for their new coach. They are fired up at the prospect of a successful season.

“I hope our new coach can build on what previous coaches have done and help us achieve our goals,” senior Jason Sisco said. “I’m looking forward to competing and making strides within our conference.”
